Privacy policy

Who we are

LucyAI is a personal AI assistant run by Sagar Aryal ("we", "us"). Today it is used only by its owner and by people he invites. Contact: lucyai@aryal.me.

What data LucyAI accesses

LucyAI works across the apps and accounts you choose to connect. You decide which services to connect, and LucyAI can access only what you grant in each. This can include:

• Google services: Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Contacts and Photos, to read, summarise and prepare work in them.
• Work and collaboration tools: for example messaging, project, CRM and note-taking apps, to find context and prepare updates.
• Messaging apps: conversations you connect, to summarise them and prepare replies.
• Files and notes: documents and notes you share with LucyAI or keep in connected folders.
• Basic profile: your name and email address, to know which account is connected.

Each connection uses that service's own sign-in and permissions. LucyAI never asks for or stores your passwords.

You stay in control

LucyAI reads data to help you with a task you asked for. It never sends, shares, publishes, changes or deletes anything without your explicit approval. Every such action is shown to you first, and it happens only after you confirm it. You can withdraw any permission at any time.

How we use it

We use this data only to perform tasks you request. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to build profiles about you.

How LucyAI uses Google data

LucyAI runs locally, on its owner's own device. Each Google permission is used only for the purpose below:

• Gmail (gmail.readonly, gmail.compose): to summarise mail, find messages and attachments, and create drafts. A message is sent only after you approve it.
• Google Calendar (calendar): to see your schedule, prepare meetings, and create or update events you approve.
• Google Drive (drive): to find, open, create, organise and share files you ask about. Sharing happens only after you approve it.
• Google Docs (documents): to read, create and edit documents.
• Google Sheets (spreadsheets): to read sheets, build summaries and reports, and update cells.
• Google Slides (presentations): to build and update presentations.
• Google Contacts (contacts.readonly): to find the right person and their details.
• Sign-in (openid, email, profile): to know which Google account is connected.

Data is read when a task needs it and is not kept in a separate database. Sign-in tokens are stored encrypted in the device's Keychain.

Google API Services User Data Policy

LucyAI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not used to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine learning models.

AI processing

To carry out a task, relevant content may be sent to our AI model provider (Anthropic) for processing. It is processed only to produce the answer you asked for, under the provider's commercial terms, which do not allow training on this data.

Storage and security

Access tokens are stored encrypted in the macOS Keychain on the owner's device. Email and file content is not copied into a separate database; it is read when a task needs it. Notes LucyAI writes for you are kept in your own files.

Sharing

We do not share your data with third parties, except the AI processing described above, or when required by law.

Your choices

You can disconnect any service at any time in that service's settings. For Google, use myaccount.google.com/permissions. To ask what we hold or to have it deleted, email lucyai@aryal.me.

If this policy changes, we will update the date above.
